Meeting Places Blog
Our Blog
6th May.
A blog is the shortened name for a web log. A log is a record of events, such as the book kept by a ships captain. The difference with a blog is that it is not in a book, but found on the internet instead. Blog entries usually have the most recent entry posted as the first thing to read, whereas a log book is the other way around.
We can start our blog for Meeting Places by using it to comment on the choice of designs for our logo that Erica has made.
Hello!
I was lucky enough to meet the Meeting Places team last Thursday. It was election day, so not all of the young people could come.
We learned about the Hypertag system and how information can be sent to anyone with a Bluetooth phone.
I talked about symbols and logos, and we looked at some historical letterforms -- starting with the lettering on the Bayeux Tapestry.
Then we all had a go with different drawing pens and tried writing in different styles and drew some ideas that can be developed into ideas for logotypes.
We even used a dipping pen with a big orange feather on the end and got inky fingers!
Thank you to everyone who was involved. I've been working up your ideas into suggestions for logotypes which you can look at and say if you have a favourite.
Erica Smith.
